David Geckeler and Frank Michels met in design school and decided to form a joint studio in 2013. “We realised that we each needed a sparring partner,” says Michels. After all, “Design is a dialogue,” observes Geckeler. The Berlin-based duo approaches each project by asking questions, investigating new technologies, and exploring different material options. The resulting work is bold, simple, and sculptural.
