A+ Class acoustic!

M+ Rooms are modular spaces that can be configured as video call booths, focus rooms, or meeting rooms. They are constructed from modular acoustic walls, ceilings, and glass panels. Each M+ Room is designed and manufactured in the Netherlands using sustainably certified wood, high-quality recycled acoustic insulation, and finished with a durable fabric of your choice.

CO₂ passports M+Room

At M+, we use CO₂ passports for the core elements of M+Room. These clearly show the CO₂ impact of these products, taking into account raw material extraction, transport, and production. They are also compared to the production of other common product types, allowing you to make accurate comparisons and know what you’re buying.

Acoustics

The M+ Room is designed to provide an acoustically comfortable environment with sufficient speech privacy. While performance depends on the setting, here’s how the M+ Room achieves effective sound insulation:

  • Walls: Built from multiple layers, including upholstery – 15 mm recycled insulation – MDF – cavity wall – MDF – 15 mm recycled insulation – upholstery. This structure achieves an Rw value of 41 dB.

  • Glass: Minimalist steel frames and precision-engineered door profiles minimise leakage. The glass itself has an Rw value of 37 dB. Doors are left-hinged as standard; right-hinged doors are available on request (for specific volumes).

  • Overall: A Phonebooth+ contains 77.5% acoustic elements and 22.5% glass. Together, this delivers an average Rw value of 38 dB, which translates to an effective noise reduction of 35 dB after accounting for spatial factors.

In practice, users report high satisfaction with both acoustic performance and usability. We invite you to experience the difference yourself.

Modularity

For us, modularity is the foundation of sustainability. The M+ Room is built from standard elements that can be reconfigured as needs change:

  • Start with a Phone Booth.

  • Expand it into a Focus Room or Meeting Room.

  • Convert a Focus Room into multiple Video Rooms.

This flexibility ensures long-term value, reducing the need for new purchases.

Ventilation

Comfort is key. The M+ Room includes a smart ventilation system that supplies fresh air via a grille at the base of the wall and extracts it through ceiling fans. The number of fans scales with room size. Settings can be adjusted manually for optimal comfort, ensuring a fresh and pleasant environment at all times.

Wood

  • The M+ Room incorporates natural accents to balance aesthetics and sustainability:

  • Tulipwood: A lightweight, fast-growing, durable wood with a fine grain. Stained black (RAL 9005) for strength and a refined finish.

  • Bamboo: Technically a grass, it grows rapidly, is extremely durable, and requires little maintenance. We use laminated bamboo for tables and slatted ceilings.

By selecting renewable materials, we reduce the CO₂ footprint without compromising on design.

Materials

Every element of the M+ Room is carefully chosen for sustainability:

  • Certified wood and sheet material with high-quality recycled insulation.

  • Fabrics from recycled PET bottles, wool clothing, and offcuts.

  • Locally manufactured steel frames with eco-friendly coatings.

  • LED lighting with high-quality colour rendering, low energy use, and a long lifespan.

Up to 90% of materials can be reused directly without loss of quality. The remaining 10% (electronics, upholstery, and connectors) are fully recyclable. In total, the M+ Room is 98% reusable.

Circularity & Deposit

Because the M+ Room is designed for reusability, we offer a deposit scheme. After use, elements can be returned for a predetermined fee. We refurbish them—replacing upholstery if needed—and return them to the supply chain. This reduces waste and ensures resources remain in circulation.

Production

Sustainability runs through every step of our production process:

  • Reupholstery: Extends the lifespan of quality furniture, reducing the need for new production.

  • Efficiency: Advanced cutting technology minimises fabric waste.

  • Recycling: Fabric, cardboard, plastic, and foam waste are compressed and repurposed into new materials (e.g., carpet underlay).

All products are conceived, developed and manufactured in our energy-neutral factory in Tilburg, with a dedicated team of 30 employees. Most raw materials and semi-finished products are sourced within a 30 km radius, cutting transport emissions and supporting local SMEs and artisans.
